Romans 10:4 “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.”
Nobody, who has one mark on his or her record, will go to Heaven. Do not miss that! If you lived a life having never sinned but one time, you would go to Hell when you died because of that one sin. God did not say the wages of a lot of sins is death. He didn’t say the wages of a few sins is death. He said the wages of sin, singular, is death. You must have perfect righteousness in order to go to Heaven.
“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:” - Deuteronomy 6:6
If there is one thing that Christians struggle more with on a day to day basis, it would be the fact that it is today. There are seemingly endless possibilities in what can happen today. The hardest part sometimes is realizing that God always holds today whether or not we know what is going to happen. I believe that more Christians fall because of what happens or what didn’t happen today. Perhaps prayer time was missed this morning; that can affect today. Say, perchance, morning devotions were missed; that can affect today. God has given us some surefire ways in which to keep the battle of today victorious so that we can reach the battle of tomorrow. Let us look at the following verse for some help.
God here is giving the children of Israel a few guidelines on how to remember where they came from and Who it was that brought them out of the land of Egypt. I happen to believe that these things will also help the young preacher as he takes on the battle of today. In verse 7 we see the first thing that God mentions is that you should diligently teach your children. What are we teaching to our children? The answer lies in verse 5, “And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.” Does not the Bible teach that we should train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he shall not depart from it? Your children know who you are all the time! It is very difficult to hide something from the children who live with you every single day. Also, this does not only mean physical children, but also spiritual children! I wonder how many times someone is led to Christ and just left barren and forsaken. Now, I am not against soul winning! I am for it 100%! Yes, get them saved, but get them to a good church where they can be diligently taught.
“Give me 100 preachers who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God; such alone will shake the gates of hell.” -John Wesley
